Dr. Sarah Thomas Has Joined the Staff at A Way of Life Acupuncture

Sarah Thomas, DACM, AP, Dipl. OM, is now a staff member at A Way of Life Acupuncture, in Jacksonville, and is currently accepting new patients. Thomas is a Florida licensed doctor of acupuncture and Oriental medicine and acupuncture physician with board certification by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is also certified in injection therapy and advanced facial acupuncture with rejuvenation. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture from Dragon Rises College, in Gainesville. Thomas then earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science.

One of the services Thomas provides is Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture (FCA), which was found documented in history books dating back to 1121. This long history seems to prove that even centuries ago, facial appearance was important. Not much has changed in the way of wanting to put our best face forward. Although many topical treatments have come and gone, FCA remains tried and true.

FCA is not just for youthful rejuvenation of the face, improvement of fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, turkey neck, dark spots, scars or furrowed brows. It is also a powerful tool for treating facial skin and neuromuscular conditions.

FCA works with the body to bring qi and blood to the tissues and muscles. This action brings the vital nutrients to the delicate facial tissues to improve circulation, balance hormones, reduce inflammation, increase immunity, and stimulate the cells to produce elastin and collagen. Collagen production will increase at the site of needle insertion along with wound healing. All these important reactions are useful in the reduction of a double chin, can help facelifts last longer, decreases fine lines and wrinkles, and improves emotional well-being by reducing the signs of facial expressions lodged on the face.
