New 2012 Classes and Workshops at Lifespan Yoga

Lifespan Yoga is expanding its healing arts programming to include more intermediate yoga classes and workshops in January, along with weekly children’s programs, gentle yoga for adults and chair yoga.

Yoga Class is free to cancer patients at 11:30 a.m., Wednesdays. It is a very gentle class, geared to those currently receiving treatments or recently treated. All instructors are certified to teach yoga to cancer patients by the Christina Phipps Foundation, which certified more that 30 yoga teachers in Florida over the last year, including 15 new graduates from the most recent training, hosted by the Mayo Clinic. Beth Daugherty, founder and owner of Lifespan Yoga, serves as the executive director of the foundation. The next CPF training for yoga teachers begins March 3.

On weekends, professional level workshops and teacher trainings are held, including Introduction to Yoga, Beginner and Intermediate Postures, Mindful Eating and Yoga and Depression. Yoga teachers receive Yoga Alliance CEUs at some of the Teacher Training Workshops.

Location: San Jose Blvd., Ste. 207, Jacksonville. Call 904-233-6162 to register and view the calendar at LifespanYoga.com.
