Discovery Montessori is a non-profit, independent organization, founded in 1990, providing a world-class progressive Montessori experience consistent with best practices in education, environmental stewardship and operational efficiency. Discovery is affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS) and is accredited by the Florida Kindergarten Council (FKC).
Discovery Montessori’s mission is to inspire our children to become passionate lifelong learners and responsible world citizens, in a challenging and nurturing academic environment firmly rooted in Montessori principles. Our prepared Toddler through Upper Elementary Montessori environments cultivate an inclusive and vibrant community that promotes knowledge, creativity, independent thinking and mutual respect.
Discovery Montessori School is also offering a wide-selection of Summer Camps throughout June and July 2011. Some of the camp opportunities include: Traditional Montessori, Rock Band, Soccer, Art & Drama, Chinese and Lego Camp. All camps will take place in the spacious prepared environments of our wooded 2-acre campus and are open to all Jacksonville children between the ages of 18 months thru 12 years old.
Dr. Maria Montessori observed that when children are in an environment that is intellectually and artistically alive and encouraging, they would spontaneously ask questions, create, and explore.
